Polka Dot

Today was "Nail Maintaince day." Brye picks out the colors while she rests very still and Grandma paints her toe nails polka dots. When she goes to Tumbling class all the other girls say "oh those toes are so cute." We started the day with Abbi cutting her nails and then Brye got a complete manicure and polish and then we did Hops-a-lot, our new rabbit, he got his nails clipped also. Then we combed and braided hair and the brushed our new hare. What a busy day at the salon. "Okay my turn, wait, where is everyone going? Okay bye see you later."

Fun in the sun

On Brye's birthday Chellee and Peter took her to Sea World and I had the privilege of watching Abbi. We had a great time and made all sorts of fun! She played in the yard with some Tupperware containers and then with the sprinkler and also she posed for a few pictures with Morgan in my garden. I think this was the first time I ever got to watch Abbi without her big sister along. It makes it a bit easier now that she can walk, she sure is a heavy baby. I can't wait until we can play together again, she is always so happy and full of curiosity.

OH Shucks

Preparing for a family dinner with Mark and Angie, baby Garrett, Peter and Chellee, Brye and Abbi, Brian, Jim and I. It was the first day off Jim has had in a long time so we all got together for dinner and celebrated the fourth of July on the 3rd. After dinner we watched fireworks from the backyard and lit some sparklers. In this picture Brye and Abbi are helping Jim shuck the corn. After dinner they did the dishes. Gotta love a big family. Can't wait until Garrett can sit up so he can help too.

Check this out

Due to the rain, the blinds had been closed all day long. I opened up one just to see the backyard and I found this hawk staring back at me. I just couldn't believe it so I ran to get the camera and had to put on my long lens and when I got back he was still sitting there. He was watching something in the grass and finally swooped down to get a lizard. He sat there for the longest time and must have been unaware that he was in cat territory. I have never seen a hawk in my yard before. Yesterday I saw a Mommy goose with baby but I didn't have my camera with me to take a shot, hopefully they will return.

Sitting on the dock of the bay

Today we took Angie and Garrett and Abigail to meet some old friends of ours. In this picture we are sitting on the dock at Ed and Charleen's house in Orlando on Lake Michigan. We have been friends for 15 years. They came to Chellee's wedding and later had met Brye when she was just 3 months old. In the last year they have purchased property in North Carolina and just returned to check on their property here in town. We were invited to stop by and Ed needed some insect information. We had a great day it was fun to talking about old times.
